MAKERSPACE BLUEPRINT TRAINING CERTIFICATE
We require all applicants to have Level 1certificate holder on staff during the licensing period. The Makerspace Business Licensee Track is the fastest path to affiliation and covers all the topics needed to provide a well rounded foundation saving you time and avoiding the pain and expense figuring it out on your own. PROOF OF ORGANIZATION AND INSURANCE
U.S AFFILIATES
Affiliates must be a must be a corporation, LLC, or Federally recognized non-profit and provide articles of incorporation or state filing documents. Sole proprietor ships are not acceptable.
U.S. affiliates are also required to submit proof of insurance.
You are required to send us a certificate of insurance (COI) with the following information:
- Comprehensive general liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate.
- Professional liability coverage of $1,000,000.00.
Please list the following as named insureds on your policy: your corporate entity, your name, and your makerspace DBA (if applicable).
You must list Urban Workshop as an additional insured (certificate holder). The address for Urban Workshop as additional insured is:

In the box labeled “Description of Operations/Locations…” you must have the following:
- Must include your physical makerspace address.
- The verbiage “Certificate holder added as additional insured.”
OTHER AFFILIATES
While we do not require our other international affiliates to submit proof of insurance, we strongly recommend they carry it.
COST
As of Jan 1, 2022, affiliation costs US $24,000 annually and includes all three license categories: Operations documents and procedures, Adult Education documents, curriculum, and procedures, and Youth Program documents, curriculum, and procedures.
Prices in all other countries are calculated using the days exchange rate and will include any required VAT.
WEBSITE
Once you are a Licensee, you will need to have a live website before we will be able to link you on the Licensee List This is our primary vehicle for promoting you; therefore, we expect you to maintain a good website. Please do not register a domain with the Urban Workshop or Makerspace Blueprint name in it. Urban Workshop and Makerspace Blueprint are licensed trademarks and their use without our prior written permission is illegal.
Below are the website requirements for licensed affiliates. Please do not link back to the Makerspace Blueprint website until after your affiliation paperwork has been finalized.
- You must have the “We use the Makerspace Blueprint” logo/link on your makerspace homepage. The link needs to go to the home page.
- If you are a makerspace that is not solely a makerspace (i.e. you are a school, etc.), you must create a separate Makerspace Blueprint page on your website.
- All links to Makerspace Blueprint materials must be links to the Makerspace Blueprint site. You cannot use locally hosted versions of Makerspace Blueprint material (e.g., PDF files, etc).
- Ensure all content on your site is original or properly attributed. In other words, if you copy (or paraphrase) any content from the main site or another affiliate, you must give credit. “Courtesy of Makerspace Blueprint.” is fine.
- All photos from UrbanWorkshop.net, MakeItAtHome.net and MakerspaceBlueprint.com and all logos and graphics are copyrighted by Urban Workshop and none may be used without permission and attribution.
- No wholesale reproduction of main site content is authorized. Please link instead.
- The Licensee name provided on the site should be exactly the same as the name used in the license agreement.
- Include actual location (city, state) and contact info somewhere prominent on the site.
