MAKERSPACE BLUEPRINT LICENSING OVERVIEW

Since the beginning of the maker movement there has been a need for quality curriculum and operational systems to run a successful makerspace. Most makerspaces go out of business well before they achieve the goal of making an impact and achieving sustainability. That all ends now!

So we provide weekly calls, monthly licensee group calls, and anytime support when something comes up. Our goal is make sure you are successful so that together we can change the world.
 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In simple terms, licensing is an agreement to use the intellectual property we created for a specific period of time. It is not a franchise and our licensees run their own makerspaces, in the style they wish, offering the services they want to their customers as they see fit. Each makerspace is individually owned and operated. You get choose how to run your makerspace – from programming to merchandise, from staffing to business hours – it’s completely up to you.

WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE

The intellectual property included is extensive and includes:

• Enrollment for the makerspace owner of General Manager in the 1 week licensee course
• All of our operational processes, (aka Blueprints), documentation, contracts, inventories, tool lists, budgets, financial projections, and so much more
• Materials for hiring and training staff for all positions
• Adult program curriculum for over 250 fully documented classes and class track topics including material inventories and tool lists
• Youth program curriculum for 4-levels of fully documented classes topics and class tracks including material inventories and tool lists
• Access to 50+ hours of video content of our sign-off adult sign off classes and the entire youth program to ensure your teachers know how to instruct the classes successfully.

The ongoing support includes:

• Weekly support calls to answer questions and ensure your success
• Email and phone support
• Monthly group calls for all licenses to share experiences and learn as a group
• Updates to all materials and new classes will be made available to licensees as part of their license
• Private online group where licensees can share experiences and get access to additional learning materials as they become available
• Priority access to events
• Your location may be featured in our social media pages and / or website

COST

$24,000 annually and includes all three license categories: Operations documents and procedures, Adult Education documents, curriculum, and procedures, and Youth Program documents, curriculum, and procedures. 3-year option is $60,000 prepaid. License automatically renews annually.

Prices in all other countries are calculated using the days exchange rate and will include any required VAT.

WEBSITE

Once you are a Licensee, you will need to have a live website before we will be able to link you on the Licensee List. This is our primary vehicle for promoting you; therefore, we expect you to maintain a good website. Please do not register a domain with the Urban Workshop or Makerspace Blueprint name in it. Urban Workshop and Makerspace Blueprint are licensed trademarks and their use without our prior written permission is illegal.
